The selection of contents is based on those excerpts most frequently asked for in auditions. Orchestral Excerpts for Piccolo includes well-known (and sometimes feared) piccolo solos, such as Movement 3 of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, Sousa’s The Stars and Stripes Forever, and Movement 2 from Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 8.
