Position: Repair Manager (Full-time/Boston)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Repair Manager will oversee Flutistry repair services and staff in Boston, Tampa, and with our repair partners. The repair tasks assigned in this position will include entry professional and custom level instruments and may be focused on specific areas of repair depending on the right candidate’s interests. This position includes managing a team, supporting the training of new team members, inventory maintenance, and repair-related documentation and reporting as well as communications with manufacturers.

 

LOCATION

This position is currently open at our Flutistry Boston location.

HOURS

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Weekend hours and occasional travel may be necessary.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a salaried position. Compensation is commensurate with experience. All full-time Flutistry employees are entitled to healthcare benefits, paid holidays, vacation & sick time, employee discounts, and opportunities to teach & play.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Applicants must have at least three years of repair and/or flute making or flute industry experience and be comfortable working on custom level flutes, piccolos, and low flutes. The right candidate will be a proactive problem solver, comfortable learning and managing new systems, working as a team, staying on schedule, and working at the bench every day. Candidates comfortable with client communication are a plus.

Position: Repair Associate (Full-Time/Boston)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Repair Associate position is an entry-level repair position available in the Flutistry Boston shop. This full-time position will include preparing instruments for finishing by the Repair Manager, client & in-house adjustments, and full-service repairs on student, intermediate, and custom felt-padded level instruments. The Repair Associate will also assist with in-person, phone, and email communications. There is substantial opportunity for training and growth within the organization.
