TITLE: Six Concerti
COMPOSER: Joseph Bodin de Boismortier
PUBLISHER: Little Piper
ED/ARR: Ervin Monroe
INSTRUMENTATION: Flute Choir
DESCRIPTION: Boismortier was one of the first French composers to work within the Italian innovation called the Concerto, which was a work consisting of three movements (normally: fast, slow, fast). Boismortier's Six Concerti for Five Flutes was his first to reflect this innovation. These concerti were one of his most popular works during his lifetime, and they remain a favorite today. They sound great with five C flutes , and are equally as effective when played by a large flute choir.
