Borne, F. - Carmen Fantaisie Brillante

|DESCRIPTION:||One of the most popular forms of flute music during the last part of the nineteenth century was the theme and variation salon piece. The composers, who were often flutists themselves, would take popular tunes of the day, often opera melodies, and use them as a basis for a set of dazzling variations. Here, Francois Borne has cleverly adapted the melodies from George Bizet's Carmen for flute and piano, and interwoven these beautiful tunes with sets of virtuosic display.
